BTP-SXM Donates Data Servers & Server Rack To Mpc

Published on: Nov 12, 2013
Bureau Telecommunications and Post St. Maarten donated two HP DL series rack mountable 19” servers with dual power supplies, redundant disk including memory and processor and a 19” equipment server rack to the ICT department of the Milton Peter College.
The servers are intended for the hosting of software applications and will form a critical part of the data network of MPC. They will be used for several network critical functions such as central email services, central data management, shared access to files, and access control to the network. Managing Director of Carib Work IT N.V., Mr. Serge Bakker contributed to this donation by configuring, testing and delivering the servers at no costs and will provide onsite technical support to the schools whenever that’s needed.

General Director of Milton Peter College & Sundial School, Mr. de Visser, was delighted with the generous donation of BTP-SXM and stated: “our school will benefit from this contribution both now and in the future. In times of limited resources, contributions such as these make an incredible difference in what’s available to our schools”.

With the donation of data servers, Bureau Telecommunications and Post St. Maarten, spearheaded by Mr. Anthony Carty, wants to stimulate the use of ICT in schools for both students and teachers. “For the future of St. Maarten, it’s of great importance that students learn how to apply and further extend their ICT skills in the curriculum”.
